As a freelance designer, I'm usually building the logo first and then moving onto business cards for the same client. In my daily 9-5 gig anything can happen. I've been handed a torn up card they've used before and need recreated, I've started from scratch or they have a logo and need just the card itself created. Sometimes I get to go wild with corner shapes, foils, embossings, paper textures – the options are limited only by time and costs. LOL. Business cards are a lot of fun to design because its just as much of an identification of the client as their logo and their photo ID. A good business card and logo should speak for itself.
